Question Hydraulic Clutch???

Hey, Im hopefully going to be leaving the worn out civic and replace it with a 1g tsi in the next couple of days. It needs new rotors, and the clutch cable replaced, totally stock for 1100, But I figured this car would have a hydraulic clutch on it since my friends 90 celica has one. What year did these car switch over to hydraulic clutches assuming they ever did? I always thought they were better overall, yet after driving my friends celica it just feels way too numb. Which format has the advatage if any? Heres the car...

Also two other way off topic questions I had as well.

I have heard that good driver can pull about a 14.9-15 et on these cars stock, but lately I have been hearing stock times closer to about 15.7? Which is more accurate? This is for the fwd version of the tsi.

There is another talon for sale right now for 3200, brought down from 3500 with these modifications...EVO3 16G TURBO
FMIC
WALBRO 190LPH FUEL PUMP
RC 550CC INJECTORS
NEW RADIATOR
NGK SPARK PLUG WIRES
NGK PLUGS
GREDDY TYPE-S BOV
2.5" DOWN-PIPE
TUBULAR O2 HOUSING
APEXI SAFC2
DSMCHIPS.COM STAGE 3 CHIP PIONEER DECK
DATALOGGER
CLIFFORD G5 ALARM SYSTEM
NEW HEAD GASKET
NEW CYLINDER HEAD
SPRINT SPRINGS
SUSPENSION TECHNIQUES REAR SWAY BAR
MEGAN RACING UPPER FRONT STRUT BAR

I just dont know how safe I feel buying a car already modded. Depending on how well this one ran, do you think I would be better off buying the stock talon? I know quite a bit about cars in general and have done a lot of research, yet I have never really worked on a car aside from changing oil and stuff like that, yet I would like to learn and what better time to learn than 16? either way its a DSM and realize that Im probably going to have to become somewhat of a mechanic anyways. Thanks a lot from a hopefully future dsm owner.

Re: Hydraulic Clutch???

i'd personally buy the modded one, it looks like its in really nice shape. although modded, it's not modded heavily at all, that sort of a normal range for most dsm'ers. and make sure to pull off the "Got Boost?" sticker
