Question 97 Chevy MC Fuel Gauge Problems

I have a 1997 Chevy MC with the 3.1 V6 and I fueled up last week and the fuel gauge went out of it's mine. Could not find a fuse but if I try to crank the engine over the gauge does move and returns to the E position. Can anyone help with this question??
Thanks, Jerry

Re: 97 Chevy MC Fuel Gauge Problems

Well thats a tough one!

Could be fuel lever sender! Hell it could be the alternator! The DOHCs are a pain in the arse to replace the alternator. And show systems like what you describe. There was another dummy light that would trip when this happens so do you have anything to you might be able to add?
