I think the later engines had more boost (13 psi vs 6.5 psi)

Ahhh, I don't know about that. I may be confused but you are talking the st165 and st185. The st185 just has i think like 8 psi stock. I am looking to turning mine up to 15. I think the intercoolers have a lot of difference. If you are talking the st205, it has a water/air intercooler with lots of boost. I think that is the main difference. Someone just like totally shut me down if I am wrong.

Ok, yeah the 205 had a water/air intercooler to compensate for the higher boost. I thind it was 13 or 15 or something. I don't know of any other major differences, maybe weight and chassis rigidity.

the 2nd gen in st185 ~200hp
the 3rd gen in st205 ~260hp

the gen3 used a wta intercooler, run higher boost, and used a more aggresive timing, the turbo was different slightly as well, i don't think ther were any major mechcanical differences

it can be surprising how little changes can make such differences

if you are going for a 3sgte swap, while the st205 will give up more power off the bat, if you're planning to do alot of upgrades than i say get the 2nd gen

like if you have enough to get the motor drop it get a FMIC and some other upgrades than the 2nd gen cuz its going to be a little cheaper and with mods will do the same as 3rd gen
But if you only have enough to get and drop lthe 3rd gen and won't have upgrading money for a while you might want to go that route as you will have more power for the time being
