86 gti engine swap

I'm looking to do a 16v swap on my gti, as the little old 8v just doesn't do it for me. The problem is, I can't seem to find one. Anyone know of some sites, or places to call for new/used/rebuilt engines? I'm willing to spend a decent amout of cash, as long as it's a good engine. Any help would be great.

Re: Re: 86 gti engine swap

If you're gonna spend the money, get you and ABA head with your 8v or 16v 1.8 head, and you'll be even happier.

Consider the bigger displacement and taller block of the ABA. You can find one on the 96-99 jettas and golf's. 2.0 l
