Would this work for my needs?

Hey everyone,
As I've said before, aside from installing my headunit a few months back, aftermarket car audio is fairly new to me. I've been looking to get a sub and amp for some time now, and now that I'm back at work for the summer, I'd like to carry out my plan. On to my question: For what I listen to, (almost exclusivly rock of different varieties) would this combo be a good idea? I like to keep the sound turned up, but not to obnoxious levels...I just want a little more punch in the bass notes, nothing extreme. Thanks for any help

Re: Would this work for my needs?

Unless you want people to hear you from 2 miles away, that setup is just fine.

Re: Would this work for my needs?

damn.... 2 miles..... how?

and a small amp and 1 15 or 2 12s would do fine. i recently did a install w/ 2 RE 12's w/ a Hifonics NX400 [200W per] and you can hear it about a block away, and it shakes the hell outta the car.

Re: Would this work for my needs?

wtf is this set up??? im so lost.

and how much are you willing to spend. a single Avalanche 12 with 400-500w in a sealed enclsoure with a Qtc around 0.8 would give you some overhead and would be great for producing kick drums and bass guitar notes down to the 30Hz area at a decently high level...and ascendant still has some left

Re: Would this work for my needs?

ehhh, not bad...but if you can afford the Ava12 with a budget 400-500w amp id go for that instead.
225 tops for the Ava12
and a 400-500w@1ohm budget amp can be had for $150 on Ebay. wireing and enclosure another $100 and if would be great for rock and not too shabby for rap.
