Question General Maintance for 02 S10

Well my blazer almost has 60k on it so I figure its prolly time to do a maintance overhaul. Oil has been changed every 3k or 6-12months(whichever came first). Since I can't find a repair manual for this year I'm looking for what should be done besides recharging the K&N filter (allready done). She runs great and I'd like to keep it that way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Peace-

Also, what is the best way to tell if you need to replace your brakes (pads/rotors). They feel fine but that can be deceaving(sp?). Thanks again. Peace-

Wait until the brake pads wear out on the indicators.

For the pad replacement, you should go and get a chilton's manual. It will show you step by step what to do.

For the tuneup, do the following TO THE LETTER!:

Cap & Rotor
AC Delco Platinum Plugs Gapped properly
PCV valve
Fuel Filter
MAF cleaning
Transmission fluid replacement and a new tranny fiilter.
Replace all transfer case and differential fluids with 75w90 synthetic gear oil.

Also, DO NOT over oil your filter or you will be buying a new MAF sensor. Filter oil on MAF sensor filament wires = destruction

Thanks for the info. Unfortunatly Chilton's doesn't make a manual for 2002 model yet. Hopefully it will be out sometime this year. Peace-

Don't forget to check or replace air filter and grease your suspention zirc fittings on the front end. Easy to do! You might also flush your cooling system although if it looks clean, you might let it go another 15,000 miles. Also consider rotating the tires and checking pressure.

You can find most of the info you need here on this forum if Chiltons hasn't yet put out a manual.

Oh yea, grease the 10-11 grease fittings on your front end.

You should do this every time you change your oil.

And don't trust the grease monkeys at the lube place to do it properly.
