1988 Lebaron electrical issue
My daughter has a 1988 Lebaron Coupe which has an electrical issue I can't seem to solve - Whenever the doors are opened or the dome light is turned on with the headlight switch, the power to the radio and the information center cut out. As soon as the door is closed, the power returns to the radio. Also, randomly when the key is removed from the ignition, the backup power to the radio also cuts out, resetting all of the presets and the clock.
Ground to the battery and engine block are good, and the fusebox looks good and not corroded. Any ideas? GreenCar |

Re: 1988 Lebaron electrical issue
sounds like you have two circuits that are crossed together, like the insulation has rubbed off the bare copper is rubbing up against each other, causing a cross-short.

Re: 1988 Lebaron electrical issue
Mine was giving me problems like this... and it was the "always hot" fusible link loacated near the driver's side firewall under the hood... I replaced the entire link and it went away
