Cigar lighter fuse?

Anyone have any idea which fuse I might check for a cigarette lighter that doesn't work in my 1998 wrangler? I can't seem to figure out which fuse operates it.

Thanks!

Re: Cigar lighter fuse?

Get a manual, or just take each fuse out and check.

Google is your friend (especially if you don't have an owner's manual)

Thanks for taking the time to search it for me...I actually did google and found this same page before coming here to ask. The original poster in that link wasn't too sure if she had found the proper fuse either, and I had already gone and checked that same one as well, to no avail. Also, the owners manual does not have a fuse listing for the cigar lighter. Guess I'll just go with the take each fuse out and check it seperately technique.

Re: Cigar lighter fuse?

At least you've got a good place to start tiwh #11.

Are you trying to hook into the lighter, or is it not working?

I'm attempting to hook into it...I use the lighter for both my cell phone charger as well as a sirius satellite radio. And then about a week ago, it just stopped working.

As for the fuses, I've just returned from checking out each and every one of them and didn't find a single blown fuse.

Any ideas for my next step?

Re: Cigar lighter fuse?

Check the lighter itself. If it works, then the plug in you're using for the charger is the problem. If that's the case, try jiggling the plug in, I had a couple that were temperamental, you had to insert and twist to make it work (You've probably already tried that, though)

I have a 98 wrangler and this problem just happened to me. I changed the fuse labeled F5 and also got a whole new switch and bezel but it still isn't working. The other three switches (fog lamp, back windshield wipers, back defroster) are working fine. Has anyone else figured this problem out? I tried the jiggling and that did nothing.......and I tried several different plugs that fit into it to test them, none worked.

Re: Cigar lighter fuse?

I have the same issue, my Sirius radio went off and that lighter socket has been worthless ever since. I replaced the fuses but as soon as I replace them they pop. I don't know if it's the lighter socket itself or if it is something else. If anyone knows please speak up.
