Question Thinking Of Going Vortec

Well i was looking at my edelbrock magazine and i saw that they had a hi-flow tpi vortec system, well they say you get 25hp with just switching to there hi-flow tpi, how much hp/tq would i get with getting vortec heads, and switching to a vortec style tpi system?

Wait for 89, he's the guru of vortec. From what i hear, they will be really good. It's the setup, i may choose to go with on the 305, the tpi, runners, then the intake, along with the heads casting #062??

Re: Thinking Of Going Vortec

that can't be right. To my knowledge, Vortec heads weren't made until 1996. And there is no factory TPI/vortec system. You might have TPI, but no vortec heads. Unless you are saying that the person that sold the car to you already put it on there.

And, no, the 350 H.O. does not come with vortec heads.

Re: Thinking Of Going Vortec

i thought you were talking about the 350 H.O. engine that came as an option in third gens and monte carlos. Apparently you're talking about GM performance parts crate engine 350 H.O. the original did not come with vortec heads.

Re: Thinking Of Going Vortec

Yeah it's a brand new crate engine. i haven't had really enough time to read through all the paper work yet, i've only driven the car about 7 times. i just use my accord to get me around i'm trying to keep the mileage down on my precious camaro.
