WET Back floor mats?

Ive been noticing this problem for the past 3 months or so.

Both my floor mats seem to be damp on mornings. When I touch them there is diffenately moisture bellow the mats.

Its been rainning off and on. But somedays it dont rain, and I can still feel a damp moisture under the mats.

The other week when it was raining heavly the car was parked and moisture was under the mats the next morning.

Does anyone have this problem or can help me?

Back when I lived In Texas, they referred to “wetback floor mats” as illegal emigrants who were caught crossing the border and placed in the back seat of the Border Patrol vehicles, sometimes so many of them, they were on the floor. LOL

You may have a leak in the door seals near the roof area or a seal on the upper back window.

i had the same problem 97 ltd.
i discover the wet back floor mats.soaked with water.
i took the back seat off,
dry under the carpet<lots of water>,
but i noticed the front were wet also, i`m talking about the driver`s side,
every time it we got rain . it soaked.no matter how much rain.

so you need to see if the water coming from the front,that was in my case,
it was coming from the front and travles to the back,
hint< driver side has a pocket where emergency cable start.if this pocket is filled with water it means ,its coming from the front.
underkneath the carpt its thik rubberon the upper side and foam on the bottom, when it gets wet it does not get dry fast,so wehen you see water <wet>mats that means this rubber shield is sinking in water.
you will see its not over night thing its been happening for long time, you could tell from the discoloration in foamy side, it will look rotten brown.

so what i would do see where the water come from first, it could come from side door panel or from roof trim where the bolts attach the trim with roof.

mine was coming from underkneath dash board,driver`s side in the cornner. here is the thread i posted a while back about this problem.
