Display not working on stock Sterio

Hey i got a 98 GP with the stock cd player sterio, and the display doesnt work, i was wondering if there is any way that can be fixed/ reset to where it can come up again, or if i can remove it and fix it somehow. the sterio DOES work, and play cd's just the display isnt working, i dont really want to buy a whole new head unit, especially since everything else with the sterio is fine. if anyone can assist me that would be great, thanks.

hey mike, welcome to the club..the 1 where our radios speak japanese every now and then. If i recall from before, they are simply junk and have to be replaced eventually. here's an old thread with some instructions for a fix...good luck!

you can actually buy a harness to make the steering wheel still work... I've been told that crutchfield has them
