99 GP GT Radio Problems??
I just recently bought, Havent even brought it home yet, a 99 gp gt,
the display on the radio ( standard with only treble and bass controlls) is not working though, well, to clarify, it works, but there is no backlight, so you can just BARELY see it, is there any way to fix this???? otherwise, I have a stereo with equalizer from another grand prix of the same year, can i swap it out for that radio? or wont it fit in the space?? how do i disable theftlock if i do that then? im not sure if its turned on or not. |

Re: 99 GP GT Radio Problems??
It shouldnt be a problem to swap but the light is dim because there is a module that sits behind the radio that needs to be changed... when i got mine out it look like it melted over time... with 97 a lot of censors and modules needs to be changed

Re: 99 GP GT Radio Problems??
look on the face of the radio. If the theftlock light is on, then it is activated and you need the code before disconnecting. The radio with EQ is a direct bolt in and will fit perfectly. Also, the radio display has a lightbulb behind the led, and they can burn out in time. It's an odd bulb, but if you can find one, it's user replaceable. I did it in my fiance's Trans-Sport. Found the bulb at Radio Shack I believe but I don't remember what the part number is.
