Engine could not start after turn off and back on

My 98 toyota camry is running ok on the road but after I park and turn off engine and then I turn back on again it could not start until I leave for several minute then it's start again. Is this fuel pump or auto control problems? Please give me an advise and I appreciate.

What do you mean by "could not start"? Does the engine crank, but doesn't fire? or does is sit there and click or make no noise whatsoever?

I would guess it is either your coil or your ignitor. See if your coil has the correct resistances in primary and secondary.

You really can't check the ignitor. It is replaced when you can't find anything else wrong.

You have a V6? I doubt all the coils would go bad and cause this problem. I assumed you had one coil/ignitor. See if you have a strong blue spark when it won't start.

This sound like a classic case of Engine coolant temp sensor mulfunction. The the ECT sensor fails at abot 80 degrees celsius and it sends a signal emulating a low temp coolant and the computer responds as if the engine was cold. To much gas and the engine is floaded.

Will I need to replace ECT sensor? What you mean "To much gas and the engine is floaded"?
Thanks.

The engine gets too much gas since the ECT sensor is not communicating the engine coolant temperatute to the computer. Therefore, the computer interprets this as a cold engine and sends more gas. You could check the resistance of the ECT sensor. Disconnect the ECT sensor and connect the ECT sensor terminals to an an ohmeter. When the car is off and the engine is cold it should read betwwen 2-40 K ohms (depends on the ambient temp. ). Turn on the car and keep an eye in the readings. It should go down to 0.2 kohms. If you see the ohmeter givig you erratic values when the cars is warmed up, then the ECT sensor is gone. Normally you coud see an incrase of the ohms to values over 40 kohms. If that is the case. replace the sensor.

Check temperature_vacuum_valve pic in my gallery. The green sensor first on left side of pic is the ECT sensor in a 4 cyl camry 92-96

I think the ECT sensor is normal after I checked with ohmeter (car off read at 1.33Kohms and Turn on car read at 0.33Kohms).

Yes, it has strong blue spark when it's not start.

the ECT sensor mulfunction is very erratic. I would repeat the test with the ohmeter 2-3 times. Leave the car idleing until the fans start an keep an eye in the ohm meter. Sometimes the car wold stall while idleing. If your tests are negative, you problem might be a dirty EGR.
