Auto AC To Manual Control
anybody have any idea if it is possible to change from the Auto AC controls to a Manual control unit. I have access to a junk yard, and this idea just occurred to me, unfortunately at midnight.

I'd like to make this a joint post if the originator doesn't mind. Because I want to do the opposite. I already have the control unit for the dash I just don't know how to start the process, or if its possible.

Re: Auto AC To Manual Control
Its possible, but you basically have to take the whole dash out to change all the parts, all the electric bits are different.

not worth it
I got a copy of the wiring diagrams for both cars. I have all the parts i need available. One of my dads best friends owns the junkyard, and basically I can have everything I need. But, withh all the changeover it is not worth it. i ended up getting a metal fabricator to make me a mounting bracket that goes where the ash tray is in the console. I'll leave the factory radio hooked up for the clock use, and my head unit will be below that. it is a little tight when the cart is in park, but it does work.
My car is Light Denim Blue with a blue leather interior. I got a blue Carbon Fiber dash Kit, and a flat shee of matching carbon fiber to cover the newly made bracket so it matches. It actually looks pretty good. |
