Re: Knocking!!! Ahhhhhhh!!

don't run it at all until you get it figured out what it is. pull off the oil pan and check ALL the rod bearings. chances are you have a rod bearing or 2 out.

Re: Knocking!!! Ahhhhhhh!!

How hard would it be to repair rod bearings? Would it consist of tearing into the block or what? Im considering selling if thats the case and get a beter base model. If I do sell would I get more for the car the way its running or parting it out?

Re: Knocking!!! Ahhhhhhh!!

is the car stock?? cuz if so, you wont get much for it by parting it out, cuz OEM parts go for cheap all over the net!

Not really, there are always people willing to pay a little more for good OEM parts, than aftermarket knockoffs. Depending on the condition of the car and the parts, I would say unless it has a major problem, just save the time and sell it. You might get a little more by parting it out, but you have to look at the miles, condition, etc. and then look at what you think you can get parting it out. If you can part it out on ebay, you will be a lot more successful.

Re: Knocking!!! Ahhhhhhh!!

where are you looking....stock car parts(used) are cheap! you can get them for practically nothing, and if you do want to pay more to get that item, then you are losing money, cuz if you look around long enough, you will find the same item for cheaper!

Back to the original post, I think it might be your motor mount, as the engine vibrates most upon start-up and acceleration. Take a look around, have someone rev it up and see if it's knockin around a bit.
