Adding louvers
I'm looking to add some race louvers to the hood of my Jeep. The Jeep is burdudy, I was wondering what everyone thinks about the color of the louver. Should I color match it, have a chrome or black finish?

Re: Adding louvers
Check out this link: http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoBonnetVents.htm . There's a pic posted of a Cherokee, redish/burgandy color with black louvers. May give you an idea. Also, he seems to have done quite a bit or work on the effectiveness of louvers/scoops/hoods and the effect on cooling. Good reading if nothing else.

Re: Adding louvers
I had louvers (vents) on the hood of my XJ. The Jeep was that metalic green color, and I'd planned on putting in black ones. On eBay, I found some out of a 280z that looked black, but when they showed up they were the exact same color as the jeep.
Once I cut them in, you couldn't tell they were off two different vehicles, it was perfect. It gave it a very professional look, rather than looking like an afterthought. BTW, after the install, my highway running temp went down about ten degrees, pulling hills around five degrees. Have fun, it's a little freaky cutting into a perfectly good hood...
