Overhead Console

Can I install an overhead console from a windstar (say an '01 windstar) into a '02 windstar lx that did not originally have one?

Separately, how about captains chairs when my '02 has a bench seat?

Re: Overhead Console

Along with the console you are going to need a wiring loom that runs from the console to the left "B" post( between the drivers door and the 2nd row window) First pull back the panel and see if the van has the power loom there( should be just below the window line) Most times if the van has rear heat/ac, it will have this loom. About your seats, All vans have the capability to have the captain seats, you just have to cut out the openings. To measure this, pull the trim piece along the sliding door and carpet, slide 1 hand under the carpet and with you other hand mark the carpet top( marker works best). The only thing you will need after doing this is the piece of trim that goes around the hole. You will need to cut 4 holes to install the seats. You will also need the seat belts that goes from the headliner to the floor. It is different than the one they use for the bench seat. If you visit a wrecking yard you may be able to buy a carpet if you don't want to cut yours.
