Transmission Problem please help

99 grand prix 3.8 L 118,000 automatic
car shifts beautifully when cold, but sometimes when the car is warm it clunks when shifting through the gears. If I shut it off, then it's fine again. I'm a real novice to this car gig. Took it to the dealer today and they said the Torque Converter Clutch was stuck. They wanted to replace the valve body, pressure control solenoid and TCC solenoid and they wanted $1200 of my bank account or first born in trade LOL...I put em on hold and now I'm trying to figure this out... Please help!!!

did they say it had code 1811? The PCS is probally bad for sure its real common take to a good tranny shop in your area it will cost half as much!!
