yashio factory

sup guys. Do any of you guys know where i can get more info on the yashio factory exhausts. Raretrick just gives like a paragraph about yashio factory itself, not the exhausts. Im interested in getting one but id like to read up and see closer pics of them if possible. I kind of like the super silent 2 exhaust. Id just like to see the difference's between all of them. THe SUS can looks good too plus its not resonated. I dont know just want some more info on them. If not it looks like hks for me. But i kind of want something different then HKS, because i already have the muffler(yes i know its just a muffler) on my hatch with 2 1/2 inch pipes and a header. Kind of want to experience something new i guess for the coupe. I just dont want to dump cheese on an exhaust iv heard nothing about lol. Just saying its yashio factory doesnt really cut it for me. I want to know some shit on it. I kind of want to order a exhaust(yashio or whatever) by the end of this week. Yes im NA still, but i dont give a shit if its loud for now. Its not daily driven anyways.

Thanx and peace.

Re: yashio factory

i've heard that they have clearance issues on the resonator... Supposedly, (according to their homepage) they fixed that on the super silent 3 exhausts... but i have a feeling they don't have our application since they came out recently.

If your budget isn't too low, you can look for a fujitsubo legalis R exhaust... very nice quality. I don't have much info on it specifically tho... search up on that. (btw... very pricey)

also, try look for a tommy kaira exhaust system for a S13/180sx application... they hand weld all of their piping and it sounds really nice on a N/A. I say "try" because i don't think they make one for our cars...

i'm looking into buying a catback system as well so i'm doing some research... give me some feedback if you find out anything too.

Re: yashio factory

yea will do. I have plenty of cash, but i really dont want to spend to much and the yashio factory im assuming would be good quality and was fairly cheap. Fujitsubo sounds like a good plan i forgot all about them lol. I was thinking about tanabe super medalion also. But they made it sound like you have to change the packing in them????? THe canister is riveted on so you can change the packing or something like that. I dont see why you would have too, but i dont know. Have you heard anything about that?? Its either yashio or tanabe for my big wants, but ill settle for something else if i have too.

Re: yashio factory

i went to the yashio homepage(what a crazy japanese tune they play lol), but anyways its all japanese right no english site?? BUT i did see the pics they provided between the super silent 2 and 3 and have to say they did give a whole lot more cleareance with the 3.

Couple of nooby questions though........
1) sr and ka mouting points are the same right?? As in the exhaust will meet up to the catalytic converter on the ka's. Im pretty sure they do, but i cant remember. My last exhaust i had made......

2) its 80mm which is what 3 1/4 inch approximately? So how the hell do i mate that up to fit to the converter?? Or do i make a test pipe with the right size flanges or what?? Which is no problem if i have too.

Iv only installed one exhaust in my life, on my friends tiburon ( i know i know) But it was a complete set header back, so it was pretty damn easy actually because duh, it was made to fit right up together.

sorry but i just like to get an idea of what i have to do before hand, instead of having the problems jump at me at the moment of installing, if you know what i mean. I know the actual installing part is easy, im just worried about how it will mate to the converter.

thanks for your guys help.

Re: yashio factory

i'm pretty sure anything will fit as long as you have the right test pipe... but don't have too much of an abrupt change in diameter... that'll create some weird airflow/backpressure. I'm actually looking into the 5zigen border III which came out in japan recently ... the former Border series are discontinued so i was wondering if anybody knew a shop with some in stock? not sure... i've emailed 5zigen japan about the ka application but no luck yet. They have the turbo app for the 180sx and both n/a and turbo app for the S13 silvia... which is a 60.5 and 70mm, respectively. The outlet are also 100mm for both and i believe they make a really quiet tone. (which is what i'm aiming for)... the exmag is pretty annoying on a n/a ka and i'm not going for turbo any time soon. The blitz realize tt is also turbo app so i'm still waiting on a reply from blitz on that... rsr already told me that it was never designed for a 240sx... only the det japan models.

Stupid American laws and regulations... why go through all the trouble to convert a det FR sports car into a N/A? lolz.... haha just venting.

i want my car to sound like a n/a twin cam... not a poser turbo car. Argh... i'm actually considering a toyota... they make the engine purr good~ haha...
