Remove change oil light

I changed my engine oil the other day and today the change engine oil light came back on. I have a base model with am/fm radio and don't know how to reset the cpu thru it. I know of some models you can reset the cpu thru the radio. anybody else know of how i can reset the cars computer?

For the record this is my first oil change, I just got the car a couple months ago.

Re: Remove change oil light

I tried the pumping the gas pedal 3 times in 5 secs but no avail. I also tried the light switch method, I heard a beep but no avail. All with the key in the on position. Any other methods?

What you need to do is turn the radio off, then hold down the "disp" button for about three seconds, until a message pops up on the radio. then use the seek buttons to select the "reset Oil" whatever (can't remember the exact words), then press "disp" again, it will ask you to reset, then press "disp" again. It should beep and say its has been reset. Just turn the radio back on and your done. You need to do this each time you change the oil, this way if you wait too long to change it, the car will give you "a friendly reminder"!

If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll go do it on mine and take good notes for ya!!
