Not Starting

ok i installed a weber 38,new cam,new plugand wires,new coil and she won't start. at first i thought it was the timing but it's not. when i try to start her she sputters. can anybody give ideas. o and one one more thing can anybody tell me where the vacuum assist line goes. thanks

ok i got it started for about a min. i changed the gap on the plugs. then some flames shot out the carb. so i figured it was from some flooding. then it turned off. it runs very ruff.

make sure your #1 is at top dead center then check your rotor is at your number 1 cyl as well , and how did you check your timing if it wasnt running ?
to get flames back out the carb your valves have to be open on the intake side when your spark is fired to that cyl ... that is timing being off , spark should be fired when valves are closed to push the piston down.
