found the eldo tranny leak..
gents, there are two peices of hose, eachabout 3 inches long with hose clamps, connecting the feed and return lines from the tranny to the cooler by the radiator. one of these seperated from the steel tubing causing the fluid to leak out. fortunately I was not on the road.
is this a cobb job of a repair or is it factory? there is no flair on the tubing ends. can't find it in the chiltons manual. thanks, larry |

Re: found the eldo tranny leak..
yup, this is a temporary cobbled-up repair, definitely not factory.
Personally I have used this repair method many times. It helps if you use proper rubber line, power steering pump return line (low pressure side) or transmission cooler line is great and you usually can buy it in bulk lengths. Many people use rubber fuel line, which does work okay, but the PS hose is much stronger. Also use two hose clamps at each end. (not one) |
