2000 blazer service 4wd light on

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any input on my service 4wd light. It is on and there are no noises coming from anywhere, all my auto 4wd, 4w hi, and 4w lo work. I always use 2 wd unless I am in the snow which I don't usually do cause I like to keep it nice and in the garage (it is my first very own car!) The light comes on after driving about a mile and after another couple miles it flashes as I am going down the road to try to put itself in 4w lo. I guess since I am driving down the road at a normal speed it can not complete the change and stops flashing staying in 2w hi and the service 4wd light stays on. All my connections seem tight, there is no whiring, whining, clunking or anything and I don't really know where to start. I am waiting for the service manual on transfer cases from helms so I just wondered if there are any ideas where I should start or if this has happened to anyone else? It only has 30,000 miles on it and as I said stays in the garage in bad weather.

Thanks for listening!

Check the connection going to the transfer case and look for any rubbing through on the wire insulation.

Thank you for your input BlazerLT you must have been correct! I checked all the connections under the car and that night the light still came on so I followed the cable out of the front axle up to the vacume servo, squeezed it a couple of times to make sure it wasn't sticking from lack of use and checked all the vacume lines. I am not sure exactly which it was but I am having no more trouble with it for 2 days now! I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question!

Check to make sure the vacuum line is attached properly with no cracks.
