Re: 2000 window cable
Actually the window works on a regulator. It is powered by a motor and moves up and down inside the door. This regulator is metal track and in order to get to the regulator you will need to remove the door panel. You will also need to have the proper tool to remove the door panel or you will damage it. Once the panel is off there is a piece of plastic sheet, weather seal, that you need to gently remove. You will be able to see the window regulator once you get this off.

Re: 2000 window cable
Go to a local wrecking yard and purchase one for you car. You will save about 75% on the cost. The motor is not hard to remove and you should be able to replace it fairly easily. The hard part is done, you already have the door panel off.

Unfortunately, none of the books I currently have show the routing of the cable. Maybe someone else knows where it actually runs.

Finally took it tothe dealer. Yikes, it was expensive. I guess the window motor and modulator comes as a unit.
