Overall Sound

I just wanna improve the sound of my car, and I'm not worried about performance gains.. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions. I have seen many intakes, and I wonder which one gets the better sound (or if I could even tell a difference). Any other relatively inexpencive upgrades would be helpful... (03 coupe 5-speed)

Re: Overall Sound

My Aem Intakes makes a sweet whistle sound when i get on it... and the exhaust is pretty loud not the rice loud but a deaper noise but like everyone know these are 4 bangers and will never sound like a V8. i have a pacesetter header into a catco cat then a magnaflow res. then splits to two ractive mufflers with oval tips

Do you have a cold air or short ram? Cuz unfortunately AEM doesn't make a short ram for the 03 ecotec...

Re: Overall Sound

K@N makes a ram air for the ecotec. i personally think it sounds great. sounds completely stock up until you tap the gas hard (quick reving) or go WOT. then it sounds fairly nice. i was told it makes a sound difference before i bought it, but be weary its a HUGE difference. as in before you didnt hear the engine much now all you hear is engine. based on preference i like it.

I got my K&N Typhoon Intake today, and I am extremely pleased with the outcome. The instal was extremely easy (about 50 minutes), and the sould is awesome, quiet until I hit it, then it's a deep wail through 5k RPMs. If anyone is in the market, I would definately recommend it.
