Re: transmission problems

Check the fluid to make sure it is not too low. If it is low it will act like this but I would venture a guess that you are looking at a new transmission.

have you had any other problems pryor to this, with acceleration or the car feeling like it has no power/holding back? It could be tranny related... but when i had this same problem it was the Catalytic Converter, it was clogged...So there's something else for you to look into.

FYI: if you didn't know there is no dipstick for the Trans, so you would be better off bringing it in and having it checked...if you suspect low fluid.

no never had a problem with it before, just seems like its not kicking into over drive, don't know if the car has electronic overdrive,or some other electronic tranny parts.don't think the tranny is slipping.

Oh ok, I have that same problem at times. It still could be a variety of things. From what I've been told, it could be that the trans is not building enough pressure to change gears, one of the pressure valves, it could be something a little more simple as a reflashing of the PCM.

mine was a 2002 with 35,000 miles when the clog was discovered. As fas as doing work on the trans, I wouldn't suggest it unless you are experienced
