Talking raced/pushed Legacy to limits

Wasn't sure if this was racing or non-specific...mods feel free to move it

so its the beautiful long weekend in beautiful Canada so my friends and I did the cottage thing...a 3 hour drive on all highway and banked bending roads!!

so its me and a few friends in the Legacy, another friend in a Benz C280, a Malibu, and VW Jetta VR6

so the real driving was between me in the Legacy and my friend in the benz...the other ppl were slow...it started with a lil racing on the highway...Race #1 from a 40 roll I started in 2nd 3 honks n we went...I had him by 1 car length by 3rd as I was in turbo range from the start, by 4th I had about 3 lengths...and I let off at about 165km in 5th...we did it again from 80 and I took him again

I finally got to push the Legacy to its limits...I got her up to about 210km/h reving at about 5500 (6500 redline) flying through traffic with very little effort...what I will say is that his car NEEDS a 6th gear so badly!

When we got into the backroad twisties the Legacy had alot of problems compared to the Merc...the suspension is very very soft on the curves so I couldnt take them at the speeds the rwd C280 could...the merc really got away from me...I manged to pull closer on the straightaways but the subie just body rolls and understeers the curves

I got to have some fun with the Legacy and I learned a few things about her that I liked and didn't like

that's awesome....whenever i go on trips with my friends and there's multiple cars, it never ends up just being a sunday drive....looks like your friends are the same way..

I recognize that too. Although that was back in the early days i was driving. So the cars were more like: Golf 3 td, Golf 3,nissan sunny, peugeout, Mercedes (minimal 9 yrs old! while my mercedes was 20yrs old the day i sold her!).Lol

It still was great fun to test whose the fastest in the twisties.
Hmmm, i only can do this with one mate wright now. The others still have the old ones, while we are in newer faster cars wright now.

yeah driving up with the convoy full of cars is one of the best parts of driving up to the cottage...the only annoyance was my buddies gf in the back who wouldn't shut up about how we were all driving too fast...

I'm suprised you said the MB was able to outdo you in the twisties. Yeah, they do have a good suspension...but not that great. Whenever I drive my mom's, I still say it has way to much body roll.

Re: raced/pushed Legacy to limits

Surprised the Legacy doesn't handle well in the turns like you think it would...they are still nice cars though.
