regulator arm replacement

I have read many posts re: driver side window tilt and finally pulled off the door panel to investigate. I tried the cleaning of tracks, greasing the arm but it still tilts on the way up. So I ordered the reg arm and it finally arrived . Now how do I remove the glass ? It appears that there are plastic? grips holding the glass to the bottom rail. How do I remove these grips? Is there a special tool for this or can they be cut and replaced?

I recently replaced mine, granted it was with a used one, but the one in at the time would no longer go up or down, and the used one has the "tilt" problem, but to get the glass out, you basically have to push in the tabs and slide the glass forward. this is on a 98, not sure if its different in other years, but I would be surprised. it does take some finagling, but its not that difficult.
