Looking at '93 4 Dr 318i

A friend at work is looking to sell his car, I'm not as familiar with these as I am other cars. I have yet to inspect it myself, but he tells me that it needs a new starter and a new muffler. Anyone know what places to look at for these parts or approximately what they run? I'll be doing a more thorough check later on before I buy, this is just what I know is wrong now. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!!
Michael

The starter (about $90) on an E36 is not easy to get to, and the dealer will rape you for that job. If I were you, I'd re-negotiate the price with the starter installed, just so you don't have to deal with it yourself. The muffler is pretty easy, and runs about $275 for a 318. Some parts places:
