turn signal problem

I noticed that my left turn signal light in the dash board is blicking faster than normal. When I stopped my front left turn signal was not working. The bulb is fine and all the other lights work. The front left turn signal doesnt work when I have on the highs or lows. I drive a 97 grand am se with the 3.1 v6. Any help is appreciated.

Re: turn signal problem

if i remember right.. generally a fast blinker means the front turn signal bulb is out.. and if its solid it means the rear is out.. But that worked on my old beretta... all i can say is double check bulbs.. since replacing a turn signal switch or anything else.. can be costly

the bulb isnt burnt out, as it is on and lit up. it just does not work when the left turn signal is turned on or when the emergency flashers are on.

Re: turn signal problem

If the signal bulb is dual-filament, which is very likely on the rear brake light, that's the reason, one filament is burned out, even if it lights, it won't blink the other filament.

Thanks for the advice. new bulb and some new wires (someone had spliced the old wires together badly) works like a charm. thanks for everything.
