engine code help needed
I have a 99 intrepid and the engine light is on. I did the turn on/off ignition 3x's ending with on. The results showed: P 1684 and P 0700. I am told the P 1684 means the battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts. But I dont know what the P 0700 means. I can tell you that the speedometer is not working. Can anyone help here?

Here you can find the explanation of the codes you are getting, without looking it up and going by the fact the speedo is not working I would look at possibly a speed sensor problem. But the link can explain more.

P0700 usually means an internal fault within the transmission control module. More than likely, you'll need to go back to your local Chrysler dealer and have them flash program the TCM.
