I am looking at buying a Black Widow body kit for my 94 Accord 4dr. I was searching over the net and came across the site www.booststore.com that had the full kit for 520.00. Everywhere else that I have checked has them for around 800.00. Could someone look at the site and see if they think this place is for real or not.
As far as the kit, what am i looking at for a cost for installation and paint job...just the stock white color. And do you guys think i could install the kit myself or should i let a body shop do it for me. If there are any other good deals out there on black widow kits, please let me know. Thanks chris |

andysautosport.com, procarparts.com and seerexracing.com have been highly recomended to me, so you might want to check them out before you buy a kit. Good luck with your project.

I Checked the site and you really cant tell from the pics if they are real or knock-offs. The only thing you can do it buy it and check if it has the 'GroundDesigns' Logo on it

You can call GroundDesigns and ask them if that website is an authorized reseller. I did that when purchasing mine.
Also, I think the authentic GD2000 Black Widow is made of 7-layer fiber and the knock-offs are generally 3 - 4 layer.

How to tell if its a knock off:
1) Authentic one will have small simple font that says the model of the car and type of kit on the bumper. Its located right underneath the hood, on the passenger side of the front upper grill. 2) ![]() No, its the bottom of the bumper... get your head out of the gutter! ![]() Stamps and stamps on the outside lower grill that say Ground Designs 2000 doesnt mean its reall. Immatations will go as far as stamping the same thing. Dont be fooled. Be suspicious. Also, its handlayed fiberglass... I think hes right, 7 layers... where as immatations will be sprayed fiberglass... thinner, and flimsier. To further understand fiberglass bumpers, and the different kinds read my... oh shit, sorry, forgot I never re-wrote that thread. Damn, got to get off my lazy a$$ and type up all that sh!t. If you dont know what I'm talking about, dont worry, the old PH members remember

Well, if I did, they would show nothing but a stock Si at the moment. I've been stockpiling my stuff all winter just waiting for the warmer weather. I have some pics in the next couple weeks. Getting the suspension mods done this weekend along with the intake and exhaust. Body kit in 2 - 3 weeks. I may try to switch out the rear bumper for a Buddy Club rear. If so, the kit will be a little farther away from completion. But as soon as I have the pics, I'll post 'em.

When I first got my kit...Streetfyghter II front and Black Widow sides and rear, I got it from Versus Motorsports in Phoenix. I paid $675 for the original. I told him I wanted to go to GD to pick up the kit rather than have it shipped, so he just printed me out a receipt for $800. Versus in Phoenix has some crazy low prices sometimes. I think the guy basically just sells the stuff for whatever he wants. I got 4 Tokico Illuminas for $431 total. Well anyway, that's my story. Good luck with your search. As for the Del Sol; have you ever seen the candy apple red Del Sol that was done by 20/20 Autobody? The guy was a member of Team Wizdom. Anyway, I think he had the Streetfyghter II kit on his car and it looked hella sick. You might be able to see some pics of it on www.grounddesigns.com
