front wheel drive
Ok i drove my friends integra gsr last night. He has a tuned type r ecu,ls trany v-tec controller, cai, apex n1, stage two clutch, cams, aem cam gears, and he just got his motor fully built bore and stroker kit done. When i got on it last night it almost pulled me into the other lane its fast for sure. My question is how do you guys with the gst handle all of that power. I know you can get an lsd but that won't completely get rid of the torque steer. Also do any of you know how big his motor would be after that kit? The guy who did the work on his car is on vacation and we don't know how much they did

Re: front wheel drive
Yeah, Not Sure On The Bore- But Should Be Somewhere Close To 2.3, 2.5 Maybe. On The Control Issue.............i've Seen Fwd Talons That Will Actually Hop Over About A Lane Between Shifts From 1-2. Lsd's Will Help, But, It's Still Going To Jerk.

Re: front wheel drive
i know that are stroker kits are 2.3 but he had a 1.8 before so that what i was trying to figure out. His car is scary when you drive it that hard. I felt like i had no controll of the car at all it felt like it was hydroplaining whenever i steped on it.

Re: front wheel drive
I don't see a 1.8 going past 2.2 or 2.3. If your friend doesn't know what he paid thousands of dollars for, he needs to get a clue. Torque steer can only be so bad before the tires just spin.
Chirpn'3rd, bore is only part of what a stroker can involve. Crank throw, rod length, piston specs, etc... Please stop replying if you don't have anything to add. |

Re: front wheel drive
The reason he got it done is because he bent a rod and his mom paid for it. When i drove his car it felt like the tires would grab traction but then would loose it and he has really good tires but it did that almost all the way through 3rd. So you don't think that its any bigger than 2.1 if he's lucky

I havent had much problem with torque steer. Basically you just need to learn how to drive the car the fastest you can without it causing torque steer. If I really wanted to, I could get it to do it but its all on how you drive. I've done it before where it rips the steering wheel right out of my hand but it was also a 3rd to 4th shift and I ended up spinning the tires all the way through. Just hang on tight and dont over compensate for it or it could cause you to fishtale and spin out.
Anyways, the most he could possibly go is a 2.2 with boring it out quite a bit, but I havent seen any kits bigger than 2.1L. The biggest crank I have seen is about 96mm, which would put him a little more than 2.0ish and seeing our 100mm crank in a 2.0L block brings us to roughly 2.3L. Have him look into that. Find out what he has. |

Re: front wheel drive
thanks I'll tell him that. I have never had a front wheel drive car with that much power before so it was very different for me to drive that instead of my car
