Unhappy howling noise

new user - I may have entered my question wrong. Can anyone help me with a howling noise on the passenger side of the engine. It occurs only between 1.600 and 1,800 RPM. Loud whine or howling noise. Thank you !!

As in your previous inquiry when you mentioned it might be your P/S pump or alternator I can offer these suggestions.

1 Try using a mechanics stethoscope to isolate the offending part.
2 Remove the serpentine belt and run the engine to make sure one
of these two components are causing the noise.
3 Replace alternator and/or P/S pump.

IMHO #1 would be my choice.
Good Luck.
