Panic Attack

holly shit balls, here is my list from brothers performance:
Moroso fenderwall cold air induction 99.99
bbk 70mm throttle body 189.99
bbk 70mm egr spacer 59.99
c&l 19lb 76mm mass air meter kit 229.99
total 579.96

this is about what i make in any given week, but do i really want to drop that on the car right now? i'm taking her up to tahoe for a few weeks and that is what sparked my interest in air intake. up at that altitude i want her to get all the air that she needs, plus its about time that i started building up for the 331 rebuild that i've got in the works since the engine just hit 120,000. will you guys give me your opinions on this shopping cart. tell me if i dont' need the moroso induction kit if i'm getting the mass air meter kit and if 70mm is too big or too small for my future plans. too big for my stock motor? etc. but on the other hand do i really want to spend all that dough... i'll hold off on my shopping until i hear from my well researched friends - if i do it i am going to do it right.

Re: Panic Attack

If your engines near stock you dont need TB or mass air meter...but if your doing a stroker build up then youll most likley need them...and up your injectors as well as the mass air meter.

Re: Panic Attack

Agreed, but not. Like he said, if you're engine is stock, it won't make your neck snap, but it will still help you out. Getting your cold air from the fender will help you, but nothing noticeable.

IF you have an upgraded intake manifold, or even a ported stock upper and lower, a 65 mm throttle body and 76mm mass air meter will do the trick. Calibration for the MAF sensor is very important or you'll be kicking yourself. Where this comes into play is once you start on your 331. You'll want some 24lb injectors to supply your fuel, and you'll have that MAF calibrated to 19#'s. Go the extra mile and pick up some 24# injectors now, save yourself the trouble in the future. but that throttle body is TOO big for your current set up, however, like Demonhunter said, you'll need it come 331 time.

Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong
