Talking Two Worthy Kills..

I got a DAMN good R/T which game me almost 2 car length jump.... and heres the kicker.. he DID NOT Catch up. I kept pulling. I had two lengths on him by the end. Past the 1/8 he started to gain some ground, but not fast enough. BTW, It was a 96-98 GT, had exhaust, and a BBK Fenderwell Intake. I would have like to seen his face when the all might stallion got smoked by a bird..

85.36---1/4MPH---90.27
...with a .5748 win margin...

Heres what I heard someone say in the crowd while I drove up the return road "THAT THUNDERBIRD JUST BEAT THAT MUSTANG"

The Tbird SC Arch Nemisis. a NEW Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. This was the top of the line version. Custom chin spoiler. custom hood, I was expecting a royal beat down..but was quite the oposite..I'm guessing he missed a shift after the 1/8. But even so, before he screwed up, I started to walk him..

Okay, maybe both guys had a problem (I doubt it with the Mustang though).. but.... "winnings winng.. it doesnt matter if.." okay..im done.

Re: Two Worthy Kills..

I'm pretty sure the GTP missed a shift, judging by the trap speed. (But I wasnt sure if these cars came with a Manual?)

I'm pretty sure the GT was giving it his best...

two very nice kills.

So what if they misshifted or not a win is a win.

Re: Two Worthy Kills..

i dunno. I know I'm above sea level, but I dunno how much. From what I've heard, the track is unlevel (They built the track back in the early 60's). They say if you point your car towards the center, you can cut .5 off your e/t. I didnt try.

Also, the temp was killing everyone. The LS1 cars were having trouble breaking the 13's.

GTPs are all Automatic. Dunno why he ran such a crappy time though. My Bonneville when it was mostly stock ran a 15.2 with a 2.4 60', and it weighs alot more than a GTP. And the newer GTPs have 260HP instead of 240. The Mustang had some obvious traction issues.. Your T-Bird isn't SC is it? Good kills regardless.. A win is a win!

I think it is possible to miss a shift w/ the paddle shifters, i remember someone talkin about it... but, my 99 GP GT (stock) has a faster 1/4 mile than that, so he either missed a shift or had some major mechanical problem.
