Question Good student car?

I am a soon-to-be college student, and i'm looking for a good car that will carry a decent amount of cargo, is reasonably priced, will get good MPG, be very reliable, etc. You guys have any reccommendations? I want something like a wagon that will carry all that I need it to, but I want it to look somewhat cool at the same time. Any reccommendations? I was kind of looking at the following:
PT Cruiser
Toyota Matrix
Scion tC (xA?)
Mazda 3/6
Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Good student car?

IMO i wouldnt go with the pt cruiser or the matrix, but the mazda would be a good choice, get a base trim and it will be reasonably priced, so is the scion tc, the xA is small, not alot of room, but really cheap like 12 k

Re: Good student car?

the tC is not a very big car if you want cargo room. The Matrix is expensive but you can get a used one about a year old in your price range. I would either get a Matrix or a Mazda 3 Wagon.

Out of that selection I would go with the Mazda 3, the Toyota is overpriced (even w/ the engine ) the Scion is heavy and the PT cruiser is ugly the only one left is the mazda.

who cares if its "heavy"
the car does weigh less than 3,000lbs.
the mazda3 also costs a considerable amount of more money with the same features as the tC.

toyotas quality > mazdas quality
