Clock won't stay set

I was away for two weeks and when I came back my garaged 03 Denali wouldn't start the battery was run down for some reason. I jumped it with my dads Lexus, and everythings fine my back up cam is fine readouts all that. The only thing is everytime I get in it's 10:35 AM, so I reset the clock. I get in an hour later, says 10:35AM, I reset it then Press the number 1 button on my door to set it in the DIC. Still when I get in it says 10:35 AM. What's going on?

Re: Clock won't stay set

BCM-related battery drain issue maybe? Maybe not related to your specific problem, but IIRC there was a TSB regarding battery drain due to steering position sensor problem or something like that. I think the fix involved doing something to the BCM...

Tony Tone, as usual you're a great help. Do you have a link to the thread. Also was it hard to do?

JackBauer--I'll try to find the link, although I think you'll have better luck going to the NHTSA website and query all of the NBS Yukon TSBs for battery-drain condition. Again, I'm not saying that this is what's going on in your particular situation but it definitely sounds like it could be BCM-related. In the case of the BCM/battery drain issue, the fix has to be done at the dealer, as they will need to reprogram the BCM.

The problem that I was referring to is NHTSA item number 10008610; although it references the steering wheel position sensor, it is because the BCM is somehow picking up the steering wheel position (via the sensor) even after the ignition is off that causes the battery to drain. I dunno why your clock wants to display only 10:35 AM no matter what--I take it your truck has the regular (i.e., non-nav) radio, no? Maybe the battery drain and/or the subsequent jump-start somehow screwed up the clock portion of the radio electronics?
