99 tahoe stalling
hi. i am new to the group and i was hoping that someone might be able to help me figure out why my tahoe keeps stalling. the first instance was about 1 year ago. i was driving about 70mph, a/c on, satellite radion on, fuel tank of gas, everything seemed fine. all of a sudden i lose all power. engine shuts off, fuel gauge is all the way over to the right. the dashboard lights are on, no power steering or brakes. i had the vehicle towed to a mechanic who stated that my ECM-B fuse blew and it just needed replaced. once replace it started right up. i have had no problems since then until last sunday where the same exact thing happened. i replaced the fuse. it started right up, drove for about 1 mile when the fuse blew again. i replaced the fuse once more. turned off all the power in the cab. the vehicle started and i haven't had any other trouble this week. does anyone know what might be causing this ECM-B fuse to blow?

If you don't have the bucks to have an auto electrician go through your Tahoe, you'll have to do it. Before doing that I would go to partsamerica.com and click the Reliability Guide under Do It Yourself and see if they have anything to say about your specific problem. If not, go to autozone.com, enter your car type information and click the Vehicle Repair Guide link on the right side of the page. Locate a wiring diagram and follow all the wires connected to your ECM-B fuse and check all the grounds to insure they are clean and oxidation free, and get your trusty OHM meter out and check for continuity in your wires. Most wires that use your ECM-B fuse go through your ECM, so that would be an easy place to start - if you know where your ECM is... And, you may find that you have a bad component that needs replacing, like a fuel pump, fuel pump relay, etc.

I also am having the exact same problem. Except mine blew once and I replaced it. A few miles down the road it did it again and every fuse I put in blew as soon as the ignition was turned on. I had to have it towed home.
I would really like to know how you solved this if you were able to.
