Re: just passed state inspection, look what happened

it could be an axle, i had a 1992 corolla the axle cv joint broke loose, the axle would turn and catch sometimes to pull car, then kick back out.

Yes, good comunication skills are most helpfullwhen seeking helpfull information.

I think the transmission may have been damaged. I was able to get a salvage transmission installed for $950.00. Milage: 86,000. Whining sound with burning rubber smell

thamks for replies
i took it too lee myles.that was last friday.the car was on the lift.they will let me know, what kind of damadge in transmission for $375.00 non refundable unless i get it fix at their shop.
so i`m thinking ,it will cost too much knowing that a used one with 86.000 ml on it cost $950.00

i`ll will check with them tomorrow.
thanks again for reply.

What the hell!? Your going to hand them over $350.00 to LOOK AT IT!

Get your car the hell out of there! NOW!!!

My mechanic diagnosed my problem for free. If you rebuild this transmission I guarantee you will be spending $1,500.00 at least

hi
you are right, i should`ve.
but its too late he had the transmission out off the car on the table.
it was 4th of july weekend.
he said the Differential was bad. the trans fluid leaked to the differential compartement ,that made the gears went bad. that was sat
he said by tuse i`ll know the price,
i called him tuseday, coast to coast+12 month warranty the price is $2700.00
i said who needs coast to coast. its local car.
2nd option $2000.00 6 month warranty.
i said thats too much , let me think about,
so i called a junk yard he has for$600.00
and another mechanic will instal it for 400.00..
but then i have to pay lee myles the $400.00, so that will cost me more.

i called le myles back,i told how about to swap it with a used one, oh you wanna do that,he said
i said i`m not willing to pay more than$ 1,100.00
he said let me make a few calls to see ,if i can find one,
it past 2 days already.i did not call him
i know what he gonna say.
i would tell him i`m coming to take the plates off the car we call it even,
see what he is going to say,
THEY WANT TO MAKE A LIVING OFF ONE CAR<<<<

shame

See the problem is you gave Lee Myles verbal authorization to teardown the transmission for a non-refunable labor fee of $350.00.

Let them know your going to lodge a complaint with your local Better Business Bueru, and Your State Attourney General.

PS: I thought the differential and the transmission used the same type fluid. Perhaps the differential went dry?

Screw it.............

Tow it the hell out of there. Tell them to keep the transmission. They got nothing on paper with your signature do they?

Re: just passed state inspection, look what happened

wow this whole story has made me want to vomit.... its sickening to know there are mechanics as sleezy as him... in my opinion, take the ashtray out of the car next time you see it, and hit him in the forehead with it, it might knock some sense into his brain-dead boulder he calls a head.... and yes, files some complaints and possibly threaten to take it to small claims court, because if there is no verification in writing that you told him it was ok, he cant do it UNLESS you feel its ok, and apparently you dont like how hes running things... enough said.
