64 T-bird headlight switch removal-Help!!

I need to remove the dash panel beneath the steering column which is being held on by the headlight switch. What is the procedure of removing the headlight switch so I can replace the dash trim piece? Thanks for any replies. I have no idea what to do. Kevin

Reach up under the dash until you feel the headlight switch. Right next to where it goes through the dash you will feel a spring loaded button that you have to push in. After pushing in the button, pull the headlight knob and shaft straight out to remove it. Then you can unscrew the trim ring, that is in back of the headlight switch knob, to remove the switch from the dash panel. Reverse the procedure to install the switch. Push in on the button before inserting the knob and shaft back into the switch and when the shaft is in as far as it will go, release the button.
