Funny sound ??

Timing belt or some were right next to it is making noise it makes a rattling noise every time I start the car. And the noise dont stop until I stop the car. Any one have any idea's on what I could be???

Best guess, belt sloppy and slapping the cover, or a bad tensioner. Try using a piece of wood, like a broom handle or something, hold it to your ear and place it on the timing cover. You'll be able to hear it real good if that's where it comes from.

I took the timing belt cover off and found out the belt is really bad and I need a new one. But I still cant seem to figure it out. if it's coming from the belt or the pully's. It's loud, and when I rev the engine it gets louder with more gas.It sound like somthing is hitting on somthing but I dont see a thing Any ideas?????? Please Help...

I'd suggest having a certified mechanic have a look at it. If your doing a timing belt (which you should judging by the condition of your current one after removing the cover) and the engine is not a non-interference engine, You have to be EXTREMEY careful of your timing. If its off just a hair you risk bending your valves. a sure way to know that is if you registering a variable misfire and the engine is backfiring. It would be easierr to understand your engine if you post the year. I'll keep checking back.
