One thing I have noticed from some (not all) Harley riders is that they won't even wave at you? Glad to hear you set those particular arrogant fools in their place.

I get waves from Harley riders all the time, but most of them who do wave are wearing helmets... so the personal attitude may have something to with it than what they ride.

I get quite a few return waves, but I think it's because I am lacking a certain appendage.

As for Harley guys... I've met some REALLY great guys on Harleys, and some real flaming @55holes on them, too. Same goes for sportbikes, I'm afraid to say.

I don't think it is what you ride, I think it is more the type of person (rider) you are. I would hate to see a bunch of riders stereotype "sportbike" riders and include me and some of the people I ride with as typical "sportbike" riders. I really don't think that we should stereotype "Harley" riders.

A rider is still a rider regardless of what they ride...

Your right, it isn't fair to stereotype the individual based on what they ride. I guess I shouldn't of worded my first reply the way I did, no harm intended. Actually my parents have a Harley, and really the only thing that bothers me is that they never wear helmets. They have the leathers, but no helmet???? I keep getting on them about that everytime I see them, but it doesn't seem to be sinking in if you know what I mean.

You gotta be more persuasive than that, do whatever it takes. I support my dad to ride my bike, but then actually discourage him to ride until he gets his own m/c license.

Re: had my first bad incounter with a harley rider

ppl on Harleys..they are either hit or miss. some of them won't even wave back at me because im on Sportster, the cheapest harley. Whatever screw them. I wave at anyone on a bike...unless i don't notice them..then i feel bad about myself.

Re: had my first bad incounter with a harley rider

yeah i waive at everyone on two wheels when i'm on the road... i like the comraderie (sp?) of knowing that that person has the same passion for you....but sometimes people want a harley just to have a harley... they're posers, and posers deserve to drive a geo the rest of their life... i don't waive to those people on a sportsters though... i mean geez, get a bike for a REAL MAN not a girlie man bike ....

J/k! Welcome To AF! ....two wheels is two wheels, we don't care what kind of bike you have around here as long as you love to ride..... and i hope you stick around the bike forums for a long time!
