Any ideas on this one?

The only thing i can see that may distinguish the car is the plate in the bottom right corner of the photo. I've not seen any US McLarens with a plate on the front. I can't narrow it down.

I see what you are referring to as far as the plate, but it seems like it is way to tall to be a license plate. No solid ideas here though.

Yes, when I first saw it, it looked more like a fog light and not a license plate.

Almost seems like it could be a canvas, similar to the one behind her, leaning against the front of the car. Hard to say though.

I thought it was a fog light too but figured that it couldn't be that

From the photo you can tell its a fog light. Not a plate because of the way the light bends into it. Plates are made to refract light for obvious reasons. Basically it would have shown back all bright white if it was a plate.

Re: Any ideas on this one?

How have you narrowed it down to being a US car? The other obvious "clue" is the red and black or dark blue interior. I can't even tell what colour it is. Silver, grey or even light blue?
And I don't go for the fog light story - unless it has been imported somewhere where the regulations stipulate it and you take them back off when you get it home

Hi,

whose internet-address is this? Does the address where the picture is stored belong to anyone of you? I just thought because it contains k5mcl...

Anyways, the 'thing' may be something standing (or leaning) in front of the car, somehow it may also look like some light system, but to be realistic, why should anybody put a light onto that front. It would look terrible. Are there any similar pictures so that we may reveal the secret?

But what about the refelctions on the front left side (from our view)?
Can it be that there's the light of another car reflecting there? If yes, can it be a side light like cars in America have???
(Ok, it's very far away, but...)

This is my feeling as well.

It seems that the flash, or whatever light is illuminating the area of the photo is coming from the right of the photographer, hence the casted shadow to the left of the female subject. I think this same light is also causing the object against the bumper to cast a similar shadow, making it appear there is some kind of housing (for a foglight as some assume) mounted to the front of the car. I suspect it is just an optical illusion.

It's a shame the photographer didn't step back just one more foot - we would almost certainly have the answer to what that object is.

IMO

The cars lights appear to be on per the streams of light going outward on the passenger side (well the cars right hand side going forward) in the photo.

There was a flash.

You can see the reflection of an Orange car which sits next to the F1 on the cars right side going forward, and a reflection of the reflector on that car when the picture was taken.

You can see another persons reflection on the hood, he would be standing to the right of the photographer approx at the very corner of the drivers side

Now if one were to draw a level line from the corner of the turn indicator (visible) to the other indicator (not visible) and then compare that to other pictures of F1's you would see that in order for them to install a fog lamp in that position they would have had to cut into the hood. As the front of the car is a little further out than the placement of this is. Thisa has to be something or someone interferring with the camera and is an optical illusion. Same reason it wouldn't be "leaning up against the car".

I got it,

It is the photographers right hand sleeve, outter is a leather jacket or similar and what appears to be a "foglamp" is the cuff of his shirtsleeve.

Just act like you are taking the picture, it is the only thing that makes sense, WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD EVER LET ANYTHING REST UPON THEIR F1, unless she was naked of course!

On a slightly different note ... who'd park their F1 in a shed?!
