Lightbulb Engine or Transmission Shudder before moving

'91 t-bird 3.8 - 152k

I've had this problem alot recently (past 6 months). Always notice it more on a cold engine. Right on start up when taking the foot off the brake pedal... even if I slam on the gas or very lightly hit it... it will shudder before going anywhere. After that it will be fine... but just that first shudder before going anywhere then it will acellerate. The shudder or vibrate ,like the car is trying to go, is a very fast one. It lasts for about one second total. Is this a tough one? could it be anything?

It kind of sounds a little tranmission related. I changed my fuel filter about 8month's ago then had a fuel induction cleaning and have been using fuel injector bottles every other tank. Think I just need to change the fuel filter again? I need an area to focus on , so im just guessing.

any tips or advice would be appreciated.

Transmission Torque Converter (Atleast thats what it sounds like).

Welcome to one of the many joys of owning an MN12.

Flush the fluid, clean the magnet/pan, replace the filter. Some guys say to go with Mercon V. I used Mercon III after a Sea Foam Flush... havent had a problem.
