resonator?

I know this might sound kind of dumm but what does the resonator look like, and where is it located.is it next to the cat ,the reason im asking is bc. ever since i swithed my exhaust for a turbo 2 muffler ,it sounds really fucked up.almost like an annoying loud lawnmower but with a small rattle when hitting 3 rpm.im thinking maybe the resonator might help .

Re: resonator?

A resonator might help. You should make sure your car is running right too. I had the same issue, but not really a lawnmower sound, just really loud with header and full exhaust as well as other stuff. The resonator wouldn't fit with my big high flow cat that was custom fitted cuz the short shifter sits right there so I had it welded behind the linkage before the bend. It works great to balance out the sound like a true cat-back. Anyway, it looks like a mini glasspack... and when it's in place looks like a bubble in your piping...

Re: resonator?

well first things first. wut brand exhaust was it? was it a weld-on muffler or a full catback exhaust? if it was a catback kit, then it "should" already have a resonator in the mid-piping. like turtle said, it'll look like a bubble in the piping. if it was a weld-on straight thru muffler, most likely thats the noise problem right there, not the engine's tuning. a lot of the straight thru canister weld-on mufflers just sound like ass period. besides soundiong bad, they also don't do anything as far as performance improvements either.

the exhaust that i took off was a weld on exhaust . I was looking under my car and the only bubble in the piping was the catalyst almost where that oil tank is. IS that were the resonater goes?.I seen one in ebay for about 40 buks with shipping .
