Angry me too

Without a doubt, every winter my driver side window will go off track constantly. It got to the point that I don't even use it in the winter cause I know the same thing will happen. It seems the civics and accords have a lot of problems w/ their windows. My sister & mother have window problems and a door on the accord just decided one day to never open again. The cars got good engines, but for those simple things, too many problems.
Well anyways, honda denies its anything that has to do w/ them regarding the windows, so good luck & if you figure anything out let me know.

I had the same problem with my 99. Both windows would fall off the track, especially in the colder weather. If you remove the door panel, down behind the speaker you will see a small bolt. Loosen it a litlle, and than slide the track closer to the window(once you have the window back in the track) and hold it tight while you tighten the bolt. It will eventually slip out, but it does help. I have a 00 now, and I hope I don't run into this problem again. If you find a permanent solutio for this problem, let me know. I have a buddy who is a Honda Tech, if I see him I will ask to see what he thinks.

Ever wash your civic?
Ever notice that after you wash it, and of course, clean the windows, that if you roll it down then back up, the windows are wet?
Funny thing about 5th and 6th gen civics...there aint too much keeping the outside crap out from inside the door panel. Betcha the window started to stick when you cranked it, or the motor did, before it popped track huh?

Now, I could be full of crap...but...after torching and bending, and eventually replacing, 3 window regulator arms in my 2 past hatches (92, and 97 respectively) I've come to realize that the window, arm, and track are fine...it's the weather stripping that doesn't work worth a damn.

The cold doesn't cause the problem, the salt, snow, and ice that makes its way into your door does.

The cheap "grease" that is used to lubricate the door eventually runs off the very bare, very untreated metal that makes your window work.

Take off the panel, get up in there, clean the thing out with some WD-40 then put some clean heavy grease on there and work it into the arm and the pivot. Good to go...until it washes out again...give it a year.

If that don't fix it....well damn...
PM me if you need help getting the door apart.
