Civic Type R *90%*56k Warning*
Hey all well here it is the final product i ran into a huge hill while doing this prodject, Heres the story, I had the car in my hands looking it over amazed at how clean it was while i was walking out side to paint my side skirts. Well i set the car down to the side so i could go paint my side skirts , then i realized the wind was blowing some of the spray paint towards my car, and of course theres little gold speckles all over my clear coat layers and all over my cf spoiler. Also the front got a little messer then i wanted and also gold sparkles got on my cf hood so i haft to use a black one for now until i get more cf decals. Hopefully i mananged to recover it enough to keep its name as one of my best built models but not my best
. Anyways the kit is Revell Civic Hb kit, i turned this Hatchback into a type r Civic Hatchback. Also heres the link to my progress of the build. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=423480Specs to make it into Type R RHD Type r logos Side markers custom type r back Type R headlights Type R seats (from a tamyia kit) Nice motor with Carbon intake manifold Japanese Lisence plate ____________ ^Other then that i just built it nice and clean. ( i think) P.S. More and better Out side pics tommarow And yes the rearview mirrors are taped on for the pics. Again 90% done ![]() After clear coat dryed just to show how shiny it is the other pics dont do it justice ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Custom back before painted (didnt take any pics of back tonight)

Re: Civic Type R *Finished*56k Warning*
hmm your modelling skills are improving, keep up the good work!
Your headlights seem severly fogged, however. Maybe from the glue. I'd suggest using canopy glue, which dries clear and does not fog up the plastic. It is very similar to Elmer's school glue. |

Re: Civic Type R *Finished*56k Warning*
Not bad, your panel lines look superb! Great job. However, here are a few things you could do to help out your models (we are ALL always learning)
You need to work on keeping your parts clean after your paint them. Seams you have a lot of 'smudges'. Give them plenty of time to dry (be patient). And use a paint brush as less as possible. Glue your 'big' pieces to the body before your paint. And if you are going to paint then glue, make sure you take a hobby knife to scrape the paint off at the place were the glue is going to go. Remember that model glue 'melts' stryene plastic but has no effect of paint (hence it will not 'stick good). Also, buy a bottle of semi-gloss and/or flat clear coat so you can apply it over whatever color you want (after it dries). That will add alot of realism to your car as the interior and the window trim aren't meant to be shiny. Your paint job is nice & shiny (the way it's supposed to be ) and your color combos go very good together. I'm not trying to do anything but help you out with things I learned either the hard way, or from other members here.
