3.4L v6 to 5.7L v8
How much money would it cost to drop a 5.7 in my 3.4?? And does anyone know where i can get a cheap but reliable 5.7??

not nessesaryaly, i got a 350 out of a 99 tahoe for 100 bucks, only thing wrong with it was the lifters and bearings. just gotta know where to look.
as to the cost, thats a tougher question, you are looking at a very large investment. you might be better off selling the sixer and buying a camaro already equipped with a V8.

I just bought a 5.7 with tranny, harness and computer for $500.
It was out of a cop car, 96 caprice classic. Got it at a bone yard. Call around and find out when your city auctions are, you can get all you need at those. Or I found a turbo kit for a 3.4 on ebay for $2450. It comes with the turbo (duh) all of the connections, intercooler, BOV etc. Looks like you can stall that convertion to 5.7 for a little while and enjoy your 3.4 with some guts!! |
