Lightbulb Modifying fireworks

Ok...the 4th of July is coming up and there are all these things about fireworks safety. Well i dont care about that.

I saw this thing on the news about a Piccolo Pete (a whistling firework) that explodes when lit. My question is...how do they modify their Piccolo Pete to explode??? Do they hammer it a few times or what??

Re: Modifying fireworks

Try applying a lighter at both ends for a brief period to shorten the fuse.

Re: Modifying fireworks

You have to hold it in your hand tight after lighting it

Re: Modifying fireworks

If it's a "whisteling firework" u describe that must be shot into the air to whistle, it normally has propellent that is lit, and then after it reaches the end of the propellent, the flame ignites the explosive. The guys that have "modified it" most likely just stick the fuse from the delayed-burning propellent directly into the explosive.

Re: Modifying fireworks

Thats old, sparkler bombs are fun though, its easier to take a big long cup to make it in tho. Ive melted a glass cup by accident before though. I plan on blowing up many things with thousands of sparklers this year

Yeah it is, I'm pretty sure that I found the link here on AF long long ago. I'm just now gonna do it this year though, there will be pics and I'll try to remain alive and full of fingers to share.

man...i don't recommend this at all.

i wasn't even MODIFYING anything...but i had one of those tiny little black cats last month on the 2-4 weekend, and i decided to light it and then chuck it. well little did i know something was wrong with the fuse and as soon as i lit it, it blew up in my hand not even a foot from my head.

i couldn't hear out of my left ear for 3 hours, and my left thumb lost all feeling in the finger-tip for about an hour afterwards, and REALLY HURT when it did get feeling back.

but hey, they're your extremeties. do as you please.

Re: Modifying fireworks

Your an idiot if you blew up a blackcat in ur hand lol

Like every single blackcat has a grey paper fuse that lasts like a tenth of a second, only way to throw em is to do it fast.

I've seen some fuses burn faster than others, and because of that stupid Chaos theory, you cannot be sure that this fuse is gonna burn at the same rate as another fuse "just because they look like every single other one".
